Terms of Service

Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PlugEmDash (the "Site"), a public directory of plugins for the EmDash CMS. By accessing the Site, creating an account, submitting a plugin listing, or otherwise using any part of the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or submit content. By using the Site you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

Accounts

You can create an account using email and password, a magic link sent to your email, or by signing in with GitHub or Google. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials confidential
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Maintaining an accurate, working email address so that verification, password reset, and moderation notifications can reach you

We may suspend, restrict, or close any account that violates these Terms, that is used to abuse the Site, or that has been inactive or unverified for an extended period.

Plugin Listings and User Submissions

Publishers may submit plugin listings, including a name, descriptions, icons, screenshots, links (such as npm, repository, or documentation URLs), categories, tags, and related metadata. By submitting content, you represent that:

  • You have the right to publish the content and to grant us the licenses described below
  • The content does not infringe anyone else's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights
  • The content is not false, misleading, deceptive, or designed to defraud users
  • The plugin you describe is the plugin you are linking to, and metadata accurately reflects what the plugin actually does

You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant PlugEmDash a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and otherwise make your submitted content available as part of operating, promoting, and improving the Site, including in search results, category and tag pages, sitemaps, and previews. This license lasts for as long as your content is published on the Site, and for a reasonable period afterwards to the extent needed for backups, logs, and historical moderation records.

Moderation

Plugin listings are reviewed by our admins before they appear in the public catalog. When an already-approved listing is edited, the previously published version stays live until the new version is approved. Moderation actions — approval, rejection, archive, feature, and similar — are recorded as moderation events.

We may, at our discretion and without notice:

  • Approve, reject, edit, archive, unfeature, or remove any listing or other user-submitted content
  • Reorder, re-categorize, or re-tag listings for catalog quality
  • Decline to display, or remove, content that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise unsuitable for the Site

Moderation decisions are editorial judgments. They are not endorsements, certifications, or guarantees about the safety, quality, security, legality, or fitness of any listed plugin.

Verification Badges and Security Audits

The Site may display badges or signals such as "Official", "Verified", source-verification status, or, in the future, indicators related to automated sandbox scanning or other security checks of submitted plugin code.

These signals are provided on a best-effort, informational basis only. Any current or future security audit, sandbox scan, source verification, or similar review:

  • Is limited in scope and may not detect all vulnerabilities, malicious behavior, license issues, or defects
  • Reflects the state of the plugin at a point in time and may become outdated as the plugin or its dependencies change
  • Is not a certification, warranty, or guarantee of safety, security, correctness, or compliance
  • Does not transfer responsibility for the plugin from the publisher to PlugEmDash

You are responsible for evaluating any plugin before installing or using it. PlugEmDash is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on a badge, audit result, verification status, or any other signal shown on the Site.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Submit malware, spyware, ransomware, cryptojacking code, or any plugin or content designed to harm users, their data, or their systems
  • Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that targets or endangers minors
  • Impersonate another person, publisher, project, or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation with one
  • Submit listings that point to projects you do not have permission to publish or that you have stripped of attribution
  • Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Site in a way that disrupts service, ignores rate limits, bypasses access controls, or violates the rights of others
  • Probe, scan, or test the security or integrity of the Site without written permission, or attempt to bypass authentication, authorization, or moderation
  • Use the Site to send spam, phishing, or other unsolicited messages, or to collect personal data about users
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on the Site, its infrastructure, or other users

Intellectual Property

PlugEmDash, the Site's design, code, name, and logos are owned by us or our licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right in our trademarks or branding. Third-party names and marks (including "EmDash CMS", "Cloudflare", GitHub, Google, npm, and others) belong to their respective owners and appear on the Site for identification only.

No Affiliation

PlugEmDash is an independent directory. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise officially connected to EmDash CMS or Cloudflare, or with any of their parent companies, subsidiaries, or affiliates. References to either name on the Site are for identification and compatibility purposes only.

Copyright and Takedowns

If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright or other rights, contact us at legal@plugemdash.com with enough information for us to identify the content, your relationship to the rights holder, and a good-faith statement that the use is not authorized. We will review reports and may remove or restrict access to content while we investigate.

Termination

You may stop using the Site and request account closure at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, remove your content, or close your account if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for us or other users, or otherwise misused the Site. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including content licenses you have already granted, disclaimers, and limitations of liability — will survive.

Disclaimers

The Site and all content on it are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, PlugEmDash disclaims all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

PlugEmDash is a directory. We do not author, control, or independently verify most of the plugins listed on the Site. Any plugin you find on the Site is supplied by its publisher under that publisher's own license and terms. PlugEmDash makes no representation that any listed plugin is safe, secure, lawful, free of vulnerabilities, compatible with your environment, or suitable for your use case.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PlugEmDash and its operators, contributors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the Site, any plugin listed on the Site, any moderation decision, or any badge, audit, or verification signal — whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. In that case, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PlugEmDash and its operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: content you submit, your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

Changes to the Site

We may add, change, or remove features of the Site, including categories, tags, badges, verification signals, moderation rules, and account capabilities, at any time and without notice. We are not obligated to keep any specific feature, listing, or piece of content available.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them or your use of the Site are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any legal action that cannot be resolved informally will be the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Severability

If any part of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect, and the unenforceable part will be modified only to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
